Rebecca Cahua

Rebecca Cahua

Rebecca is currently a student at San Francisco State University majoring in Apparel Design and Merchandising. She has always wanted to help the less fortunate, particularly Foster care and Group home children and teens.  At the age of 15 she made herself a promise to do so in anyway possible and participated in several pageants in hopes to help raise awareness, while winning titles like Miss Congeniality. Recently, she saw an opportunity to not only help others but to help herself and fellow design students and created a platform where new designers are given the opportunity to show their designs through a series of fashion shows, while raising money for charities. She has always been a creative person and in high school realized her appreciation for fashion and decided that it is what she was going to pursue in life. Rebecca’s designs are influenced by her urban background from growing up in the city, combined with her transition to the suburbs. She is very much into sexy, yet sophisticated and always girly designs. She loves color and the idea of contrasting colors into one look. She hopes to not only be successful as a designer but to create a new platform in the fashion industry, as she promotes the concept of Designing A Difference.

JaEvon A. Marshall

Fashion design was an interest of JaEvon Marshall as a child. As she grew older the desire to become a fashion designer grew intensely. She attended the Academy of Arts University from 2004 – 2006 majoring in Fashion Design. In 2006 she took some time away from school to help manage a chain of family owned shoes stores. In 2008 she moved to LA to work for a fashion sales/pr company called Showroom Seven. During her time at Showroom Seven she was privileged to work with designers, such as Benjamin Cho, during the Spring 2009 New York Fashion Week. In fall of 2009 Marshall had returned to the Bay Area to complete her BS degree in Apparel Design at San Francisco State University. Coinciding with completing her degree she began to develop her own clothing line for women called Marshall Nash. In Dec. 2009 Marshall had her first fashion show. During 2010 Marshall showed her collection multiple times throughout the year, including a charity event for Project Marrow. In 2011 she began developing her second collection. This collection was mass-produced and Marshall Nash was sold to the public for the first time, in the form of a label launch party, selling through majority of the product. At this time Marshall is concentrating on building her brand, opening wholesale accounts with local boutiques, and completing her degree.

After interning and working for Nordstrom for the past two years, she hopes to work her way up the corporate ladder to a position that enables her to either design for the store’s in-house label or merchandise clothing and/or accessories for the Southern California region.
